PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Pakistan’s Strong Support for Saudi Arabia on National Day

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended warm felicitations to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia on the Kingdom’s National Day.

In his message, the prime minister praised Saudi Arabia’s remarkable journey of progress and transformation, saying the Kingdom’s achievements were a source of pride and admiration for both the Saudi people and Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, saying Saudi Arabia was continuing to make significant progress towards greater prosperity, modernisation and innovation.

The prime minister said Pakistan took immense pride in its historic and time-tested brotherhood with Saudi Arabia, describing the relationship as rooted in faith, mutual trust and strong bonds between the two peoples.

He said the longstanding relationship was developing into an even stronger strategic partnership, supported by a shared commitment to peace, security and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

Prime Minister Shehbaz noted that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had signed the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, describing the agreements as important expressions of the close partnership between the two countries.

The prime minister also strongly condemned recent attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, particularly what he described as a reprehensible attempted drone attack targeting the Holy City of Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

He said any threat to the sanctity and security of the Haramain Sharifain deeply affects Muslims across the world.

Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia in safeguarding its sovereignty, security and the sanctity of Islam’s holiest sites.

On the occasion of Saudi National Day, the prime minister expressed the hope that the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relationship would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to standing shoulder to shoulder with the Kingdom and further strengthening the bonds between the two brotherly countries.
