Ishaq Dar, Greek Foreign Minister Discuss Trade and Regional Developments at UNGA

NEW YORK: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Gerapetritis appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and welcomed its growing diplomatic engagement at the international level.

The two foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Greece bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on expanding trade, investment and business-to-business cooperation.

The Greek foreign minister also appreciated the contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in Greece and its role in strengthening ties between the two countries.

Ishaq Dar and Gerapetritis also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including disruptions affecting energy supply chains.

Both sides underscored the importance of ensuring unhindered maritime movement, highlighting its significance for international trade and energy supplies.

The two foreign ministers agreed to maintain sustained high-level engagement between Pakistan and Greece.

They also extended invitations to each other for reciprocal visits as part of efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.
