UK Royal Air Force Hawk T2 Fighter Jet Crashes During Training Flight

LONDON: A British Royal Air Force (RAF) Hawk T2 training aircraft crashed during a routine training flight near RAF Valley in Anglesey, according to foreign media reports.

The aircraft had taken off from RAF Valley for a training sortie when it crashed in the surrounding area.

Videos circulating on social media appeared to show the aircraft crashing to the ground, although the footage has not been independently verified.

Two pilots were on board the aircraft and both successfully ejected before the crash.

The pilots sustained minor injuries and were taken for medical assessment.

The RAF said the cause of the crash was being investigated.

As a precaution while the investigation continues, operations involving the Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 fleets have been temporarily suspended.
