Pakistan’s System Is About to Be Reset, Things Will Improve: Mohsin Naqvi

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said Pakistan’s system is about to undergo a “reset,” expressing confidence that the changes will lead to improvements in the country’s affairs.
Addressing a ceremony at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Naqvi said the government could not bring about the desired changes without the support of the business community.
He stressed the need to increase exports and expand local manufacturing, saying Pakistan should learn from countries that have developed their industries despite economic challenges.
Referring to Iran, Naqvi said that if the neighbouring country could manufacture a wide range of products domestically, Pakistan should also be able to strengthen its own production capacity.
He called for a clear strategy to increase exports and reduce dependence on imported goods, while urging the business community to contribute proposals for economic improvement.
Naqvi also said he was ready to help resolve the issues faced by the Lahore Chamber and its business community.
He said work had been underway for several months on a business passport and expressed hope that he would soon present a revised system to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that would make business travel easier for entrepreneurs.
