Iranian intelligence targeting US military bases in Germany, report says

Iranian intelligence is reportedly considering US military bases in Germany as potential targets for covert operations, raising security concerns among American and German officials.
According to German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche, the potential targets include Ramstein Air Base and Spangdahlem Air Base, two important US military installations in Germany.
The report, citing several unnamed Western intelligence officials, said Israel had alerted US and German authorities to the potential threat around three weeks ago.
The concerns centre on military installations that play an important role in US military operations, air missions and logistical support amid the ongoing war involving Iran.
However, details about the nature of the potential attacks, their planning or any specific timeline have not been disclosed.
Ramstein Air Base serves as a major hub for US Air Forces in Europe and Africa and also hosts NATO’s Allied Air Command. The facility supports air operations, coordination and military logistics for US and allied forces.
Spangdahlem Air Base is also an important installation for US and NATO air operations. American fighter aircraft have been stationed there as part of the US military presence in Europe.
The strategic importance of both bases has placed them among the installations reportedly being assessed for potential security threats.
However, the information about Iranian intelligence preparations for possible attacks has not been independently verified. No official response from German or US authorities was included in the available information.
