World acknowledges Pakistan efforts for peace in region, Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said.

Talking to a private news channel, she said the world has acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan for restoring peace in Afghanistan.

Furthermore, she said the international community is endorsing the efforts of Pakistan for peace in the region.

In reply to a question about relations with Bangladesh, she said Pakistan has great desire to work together for development and prosperity in the region.

Aisha Farooqui said Pakistan is also making efforts to strengthen SAARC besides people to people contact between the two brotherly Muslim countries.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan will continue extending all possible cooperation for security of Saudi Arabia.

He reiterated this resolve of the government during a telephonic conversation with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud.

Qureshi also inquired after health of ailing Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, besides discussing regional matters.

Meanwhile, Prince Faisal thanked Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

He informed him that King Salman was recovering after successful gallbladder surgery.

The Foreign Minister expressed solidarity with the Saudi people and government on behalf of Pakistan.

Both the Foreign Ministers also discussed the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Notably, they agreed to keep up consultation on the pandemic as well as regional and international matters.
