KP Governor calls on President Dr Arif Alvi in Peshawar today (Monday).

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman discussed overall law and order situation during the meeting.

Both sides also discussed development and welfare projects in the province, including the tribal districts..

Notably, KP Governor was referring to under execution development schemes.

Besides, the KP Governor briefed the President about reforms the KP govt is introducing n the public sector universities of the province.

Moreover, the meeting also dilated upon the projects to exploit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s potential in olive and berry honey.

Meanwhile, President Dr Arif Alvi emphasized the need for adopting all possible measures to extend benefits of the modern day technology.

He proposed this to support persons with disabilities and those affected by the rising incidence of non-communicable diseases and aging factors.

Support for persons with disabilities

President Alvi said this, while addressing an interactive session with persons having disabilities.

The event held in coordination with World Health Organization (WHO) at Governor House.

Furthermore, he said the assistive technology was drawing commitment at global, regional and members state level.

He noted it as a sign that the world was changing for the betterment and a hope for those in need of assistive products.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health, Dr Faisal Sultan and Chief Minister KP aide on Information and Higher Education, Kamran Bangash were also present.

ICT Rights of Persons with Disability 2020

Moreover, the President noted Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Rights of Persons with Disability 2020  envisaged as an instrument for inclusive development.

It underlined it as a benchmark to ensure an easy access for persons with disabilities on equal basis with others.

He further said at present, “we are living in difficult times because COVID-19 pandemic had affected every sector of life”.

President Alvi also appreciated the consistent support the WHO is providing for health and well-being of people of Pakistan.

Furthermore, the President expressed Government’s full commitment to ensure well being of people with disabilities.

Specially, he expressed commitment to ensure they participate meaningfully at all levels of the society.
