National flag hoisting ceremony held at Aiwan e Sadr in Islamabad today (Saturday).
President Arif Alvi addressed the nation after unfurling national flag at the main flag hoisting ceremony.

He said that Pakistan is an emerging nation which is on the course of rapid development.
The President sees the country on the right direction and all set to become a strong nation.
He stressed the need to inculcate a hope in the nation and reject all sorts of negative propaganda and fake news against the country.
While paying glowing tributes to struggle and sacrifices of founding fathers, President Arif Alvi recalled that the country achieved major successes in different fields.
Furthermore, he also mentioned that the country surmounted many challenges ever since its independence.
He pointed out that Pakistan successfully tackled the menace of terrorism and our security forces, society and the people deserve appreciation for defeating the terrorism.
Meanwhile, a change of guard ceremony held at the mausoleum of Founder of Pakistan.
The ceremony held in connection with the Independence Day of Pakistan to pay homage to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi.
A smartly turned out contingent of the cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy assumed ceremonial guard duties.
People felt traditional spirit and customary enthusiasm on the occasion.
Notably, Pakistani nation observes Independence Day on 14th August.
Due to Moharram ul Haram and Coronavirus challenge, nation observes the day with simplicity.
However, people expressed their feelings also on their social media pages.
Meanwhile, the President approved conferment of military awards on the officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army, Navy and Air Force.
