Antony Blinken expressed sympathy with flood affectees

NEW YORK – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has expressed sympathy for the flood victims of Pakistan.

In a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the UN General Assembly, Antony Blinken assured that the US will stand with Pakistan at this difficult time.

Besides this, the President of the United Nations General Assembly has also met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He has expressed sympathy and solidarity with Pakistan. During the meeting, the prime minister informed the President General Assembly about the issue of Kashmir, Afghanistan and Islamophobia. The prime minister has said that there is a need for comprehensive reforms in the United Nations Security Council.

Moreover, Shehbaz Sharif has also met with the Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva. The economic situation of Pakistan was discussed in the meeting. The IMF has assured assistance to Pakistan in post-flood situation.
