Buddhist monks delegation from Sri Lanka meets PM Imran Khan in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that his government is currently working on creating a Holy Buddhist Trail.

He said this, while talking to the 11-member delegation of Buddhist monks.

The PM further said Holy Buddhist Trail will include the most revered Buddhist heritage sites in Pakistan.

Moreover, he said they have plan to build state of the art logistical facilities along the trail to facilitate Buddhist pilgrims from across the world.

He also underscored the importance of enhancing people-to-people contacts and strengthening interfaith harmony.

Meanwhile, he highlighted the glorious Gandhara heritage of the country.

The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan serves as a proud custodian of some of the most sacred Buddhist sites in the world.

Furthermore, he noted Pakistan a land of unparalleled natural beauty and historical and cultural sites.

Sri Lankan Buddhist monks visit an archaeological site Sirkap

Sri Lankan Buddhist monks visited an archaeological site Sirkap in Taxila Thursday.

The delegation of Sri Lankan Buddhist monks currently visiting Pakistan.

The ancient remains of Sirkap for their outstanding historical and architectural importance have been declared protect antiquity.

A member of the delegation Dr. Assaji Thero noted Taxila as one of the great places for the tourists to visit.

Because it has a rich cultural and historical heritage.

He further said the relics at this place show how the followers of different religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism and Christianity lived together with harmony.

He said as a Buddhist place, we will highly encourage our people to come to Pakistan and visit Taxila from where they can get vast knowledge about the mix of cultures.
