Zakat Calculator 2026: Check minimum balance for bank deduction
The federal government has set the Zakat threshold (Nisab) at Rs 503,529 for the Islamic year 1446–1447 A.H.
The Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety issued the official notification on February 17, 2026. This means banks across the country will begin the annual Zakat deduction process.
According to the announcement, banks will automatically deduct 2.5% Zakat from savings and profit-and-loss sharing (PLS) accounts if the balance is Rs 503,529 or more. The deduction will take place on the first day of Ramadan, which is expected to fall on February 19 or 20, 2026, depending on the moon sighting.

The State Bank of Pakistan has instructed all banks to make sure that the collected amount is properly transferred to the Central Zakat Account. This money is used to support people in need under the country’s social welfare system.
In simple words, if your savings balance reaches Rs 503,529 or more on the first day of Ramadan, your bank will deduct 2.5% Zakat automatically—unless you have an approved exemption.
