China felicitates Pakistan on holding general elections smoothly

China has congratulated Pakistan for conducting general elections in Pakistan smoothly.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning says that the general elections in Pakistan were held in a stable and smooth manner. She congratulates Pakistan for holding the general elections.

The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that as a neighbour and friend, Beijing respects the opinion of the Pakistani people and hopes that the parties will work together for political unity, social stability and development of the country and a bright future.

She further said that China and Pakistan are strategic partners of all seasons. China is hopeful to work together with Pakistan to expand the traditional friendship, practical cooperation, and in the interest of the people of both countries. China and Pakistan are looking forward to a new future of common future, she added.

She also hopes to work together in the future.

It should be noted that general elections were held in Pakistan on February 8.
