Economic Coordination Committee approves funds to fight Coronavirus spread and for other schemes .

 

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved funds worth billions of rupees.

Apart from fighting the spread of Coronavirus, ECC approved funds for civil work, FATA TDP emergency recovery project, and Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme.

The ECC meeting held in Islamabad on Thursday.

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh presided over the meeting.

Economic Coordination Committee approves

The ECC approved technical supplementary grants of 275 million rupees for capital outlay on civil works, over 84 million for FATA TDP Emergency Recovery Project, 5.5 billion rupees for SDGs Achievement Program, and five billion rupees for NDMA to fight the spread of Corona virus on emergency basis.

The technical supplementary grant approved for NDMA shall be utilized to gain logistic support and the provision of different types of personal protection equipment against the virus like respirators and face masks.

Isolation Hospital

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan performed earth-breaking of Isolation Hospital and Infectious Diseases Treatment center.

The hospital and centre will be established by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also visited Coronavirus Isolation Center.
Chairman NDMA Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal briefed the Prime Minister about the Isolation hospital and center.
