AR Rahman’s wife announces separation from composer after 29 years of marriage

Saira Banu, the wife of world-renowned Indian musician AR Rahman, announced her separation from her husband after 29 years of marriage, after which the musician himself has reacted to it.

According to Indian media, Saira Banu’s lawyer Vandana Shah issued a statement regarding the her separation with AR Rahman. It was said that after many years of marriage, Saira found it difficult to separate from her husband AR Rahman, but this decision has been made due to complications in their relationship.

The statement added that despite their deep love for each other, the couple felt that bitterness and hardships had created a distance between them that both parties were unable to bridge at this time.

Saira requested fans to respect her privacy and feelings during this difficult time.

AR Rahman’s response:

A message was released from AR Rehman’s X account which read, ‘We had hoped to reach 30 years of marriage but everything in the world has an end that no one has seen.

The Indian singer-composer’s tweet said, ‘Although trying to get through this difficult time, the broken pieces cannot be put back together, we thank our friends and family for their well wishes and sympathy. And take care of our privacy’.

It may be noted that AR Rehman married Saira Banu on 12 March 1995 and the couple has three children.

AR Rahman and Saira had an arranged marriage, the musician revealed in an interview that his mother had arranged the marriage for Saira.
