Huma Qureshi Speaks Out Against Online Harassment: ‘Enough is Enough’

24 November, 2025 12:12

Mumbai, November 24, 2025: Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi has raised her voice against online trolling and harassment faced by women. In a recent interview with The Male Feminist, she discussed the disturbing trend of abusive messages and comments on social media.

Huma revealed the types of messages she often receives, saying, “There are comments like ‘post a picture in a bikini,’ and I am like, ‘What are you even doing, boss?’ It’s very disgusting and really sad.” She stressed that online harassment should be treated just like harassment in public. “Someone who teases or harasses a woman on the street is punished. The same punishment should apply online. There is no difference,” she added.

The actress shared that many people cross boundaries in direct messages. “You are slipping into my DMs, sending dirty pictures or writing inappropriate comments. If you do this, you should receive the same punishment as someone misbehaving on the road,” she said. Huma also called out comments on women’s appearance, lifestyle, jobs, or personal choices.

Her message highlights the urgent need to address online harassment. Huma emphasised that the internet should not be a lawless space. She called for stricter measures so that women are protected both online and offline.

Huma’s statements resonate with the growing concern about cyberbullying, particularly targeting prominent women, and reflect the demand for equal accountability for online misconduct.
