Tamil Singer Swagatha S Krishnan Accuses Composer of Sexual Abuse

A Tamil playback singer Swagatha S Krishnan calls out severe allegations which made her to step away from the Tamil music industry. she also revealed that she eventually moved from Chennai to Rishikesh after what she claims was sexual abuse by a music director.

She appeared in the talk show on YouTube channel Sivasankari Talks, during interview she exposed the incident was not happened only with her but, alleged that the same person had behaved similarly with other women.

She wasn’t disclosing the name of music director, because she wants to take legal actions so that others are not become helpless in the same way like her.

As she revealing the incident, she says that it takes place inside the studio of music director, a space she had initially trusted as a professional environment.

According to her, the studio room was fully soundproof, locked and even had CCTV cameras which were hidden. And not only that, she further revealed that the whole scenario were recorded and alter used to threaten her. She said, “It was a soundproof room even if I screamed, no one could hear me.”

She also revealed that the person built trust before abusing it, presenting himself as a mentor, creating emotional dependency, borrow money, delay repayment, and using financial pressure to gain control. She further claimed that she later received messages from other women who had gone through similar experiences, and alleged that secretly recording women, and even children who came to the studio, had become “like a hobby”.

She said the aftermath of the alleged abuse was also traumatic. Swagatha alleged that she was shamed, falsely accused of theft and spoken about negatively within the industry, she also reflected on the emotional toll of what followed, saying she felt isolated. with even the alleged perpetrator’s family contributing to damaging her reputation. “I felt like the parts of my body he touched shouldn’t exist,” she said.

Swagatha also mentioned her sister as her support that, she is one who pulled her out form all the mental struggled and undergoing treatment due to emotional distress.

She said she had previously consulted legal experts but did not proceed with a complaint at the time because of fear and lack of backing.
