Faysal Quraishi Compares Pakistani Dramas’ Popularity to Netflix Hits

Famous actor from Pakistan showbiz industry and well-known host Faysal Quraishi says Pakistani dramas have extended worldwide popularity opposing with international streaming content regardless of being made with limited budgets.

Faysal Quraishi appeared in a podcast recently, in which he explain that Pakistani dramas are now competing with big-budget Netflix series through strong storytelling and talented actors, also highlighted that while a high-quality Pakistani drama is produced with a budget of around Rs200 million, many Indian web series made for platforms like Netflix cost more than Rs400 million.

Even though Pakistan drama production costs are much lower, the Bashar Momin actor said Pakistani dramas still achieve remarkable achievement on YouTube. As per his statement, a single episode of a popular Pakistani drama every so often gets more views than the total audience of some successful Netflix series.

Faysal also acclaimed Pakistan’s creative talent, saying local actors, writers, and directors are capable of producing world-class content.

According to Quraishi, Pakistani dramas are not generally presented on streaming platforms in neighboring countries because of media policies, despite the fact, he believes they are good enough to compete globally.

He also shared a personal story, recently he noticed someone watching a Pakistani drama on their phone during a cinema screening, describing it as proof of the strong appeal of local dramas.
