Pakistani Mountaineer Asma Mushtaq Loses Life During Spantik Descent

Pakistani mountaineer Asma Mushtaq, has died after suffering a severe medical emergency while downhill Spantik Peak in the Karakoram Range, informed by the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
The mountaineer effectively got the summit of 7,027-metre Spantik Peak and was said to be in good health after success the peak. However, she come across a solemn medical emergency at nearly 6,400 metres while making her way down.
As per ACP reports, her guides provided immediate assistance and tried every possible way to save her, despite the severe high-altitude conditions.
“Sadly, during her descent at approximately 6,400m, she suffered a serious high-altitude medical emergency,” the ACP said in a statement, adding that she could not survive despite the dedicated efforts of her guides.
Karakoram Calling Treks also confirmed that mountain guide Akbar Ali, along with another guide, provided emergency assistance following the incident and tried to keep Mushtaq safe in the challenging environment.
A senior Vice president of ACP Karrar Haidri offered his heartfelt condolences to Mushtaq’s family, friends and fellow members of the mountaineering community.
Asma Mushtaq who belong to Lahore, she was work in UK as a doctor specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology, according to information shared on her social media profiles.
Beyond her medical profession, she loved exploring, travelling and mountaineering, frequently sharing glimpses of her adventures and expeditions on social media.
