Ex-Indian batter adorning billboard surprises Karachiites

Commuters in Karachi have been taken by surprise by billboards featuring former Indian cricketer.

After citizens approached the GTV to know details of matter, a drive across the port city of Pakistan sees billboards erected at several places that feature a former Indian cricketer Ruben Uthappa.

Karnataka-born former batter Uthappa can be seen in the advertising image on the billboards where he is promoting the cricket app in the advertisement. The pictures of the Indian cricketer and two women are also pasted on the billboards on the most popular streets of Karachi.

Mobile online cricket app and gaming are being also promoted on various pedestal bridges in the city.

There is also a picture of four teams on the banner which has nothing to do with Pakistan franchises as they are West Indies franchises.

Remember that such apps are used for gambling in cricket, which are banned in Pakistan.

Ruben Uthappa made his ODI debut against England and T20I against Scotland in 2006 and 2007, respectvelty.

The former wicketkeeper-batter played his last international game in 2015.

The former cricketer had played 46 ODIs and 13 T20I games for India. With an average of 25.9 per cent, Uthappa scored 934 runs in ODI matches.
