Firdous Ashiq Awan says lockdown not in favour of poor people.

Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said this while talking to a private news channel. 

She gave reason why federal government don’t approve lockdown the country in wake of coronavirus threat.

Awan said the daily wagers and labour class cannot afford the lockdown.

It would only aggravate the situation in the country.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the government would take every decision in the larger interest of the people.

But she argued that lockdown decision could not be taken because govt prefers safeguarding the livelihood of poor segment of society.

Govt committed to protect citizens

Earlier, PM reiterated govt commitment to protect citizens from Coronavirus pandemic.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has reaffirmed government’s commitment to utilize all available resources to protect citizens from Coronavirus pandemic.

He said this while talking to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser in Islamabad on Thursday evening.

Meanwhile, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Babar Awan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Thursday.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed condolence and deep grief over the sad demise of the mother of Babar Awan.

He also prayed that Allah Almighty rest her soul in peace.
