21 February, 2024 09:21

The United States has termed the formation of the new government as an internal matter of Pakistan and said that they do not want to get involved in the internal affairs of the country.

US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said that there should be a full and transparent investigation into allegations of election rigging or fraud in Pakistan. This investigation should be in accordance with Pakistan’s own laws and procedures, he added.

During his press briefing in Washington, he said that when it comes to any claims or allegations of rigging, we want to see a thorough investigation of them, we want to see freedom of the Internet around the world.

Earlier, all the matters relating to formation of government have been settled between the Pakistan Muslim League-N and the People’s Party.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while holding a press conference with Shahbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari in Islamabad, said that the Pakistan People’s Party and the PML-N have completed their numbers for forming the government. He said that Shehbaz Sharif will be a joint candidate for premiership while Asif Ali Zardari for president.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that our prayer is for the country to be successful. May Allah support us solving all the problems.

On this occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan People’s Party and PML-N have full numbers to form the government. We are in a position to form a new government, Asif Zardari will be elected as the president for five years, other allies MQM-P and PML-Q will vote together.

Shehbaz said that independent candidates should prove their majority and form the government. We will accept it wholeheartedly. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has formed an alliance with the Sunni Ittihad Council and MWM, but despite this they do not have enough numbers to form the government. .
