Funeral prayers of martyred Colonel Mujeebur Rehman held in Gilgit today.

Pakistan Army’s Col Mujeeb-ur-Rehman embraced martyrdom during counterterrorism operation.
He led the operation to defeat nefarious design of terrorists in Tank Dera Ismail Khan.

His namaz-e-Janaza held in Army Helipad Ground in Gilgit on Tuesday.
Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Force Commander Northern Areas Major General Ehsan Mehmood Khan, IGP Dr. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman attended.
Other military and civil officials also attended the funeral.
Later, the officials shifted the body of the martyr Col. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman to Bunji his native village for burial.
While talking to the media GB Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman paid tributes to the martyr.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR),  two high-profile terrorists also lost their lives during the operation in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan.

ISPR stated that as soon as troops cordoned off the area, terrorists began firing.

However, Colonel Mujeebur Rehman of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during the operation.
The martyred officer belonged to Bunji in District Astore of Gilgit Baltistan.
He left behind a widow, three sons and a daughter.
The colonel was leading the operation.
The security personnel also seized a large cache of arms and ammunition from the terrorist hideout.

President praised martyr

President Dr. Arif Alvi has said this in a statement today (Monday).
He stated that the entire nation is united and determined in the war against terrorism.
The President also cited the security forces have eliminated terrorism by rendering immense sacrifices.
Dr Arif Alvi hailed the courage of Colonel Mujeeb-ur-Rehman who embraced martyrdom during an operation against terrorists near Tank today.
He also prayed for the departed soul and commiserated with the bereaved family.
