GTA VI music leak reveals classic country song for Leonida

The upcoming game Grand Theft Auto VI is once again in the news due to a new leak. Songwriter Bobby Keel recently shared on Facebook that Rockstar Games plans to include David Allan Coe’s 1987 song, “Need A Little Time Off For Bad Behavior”, in the game. Keel, who co-wrote the song with Larry Latimer, described the news as “BIG TIME HUGE”.

At the moment, it is not clear how Rockstar will use the song in the game. It could be played on the in-game radio, or it might appear during an important mission.

The exact role is still unknown. However, the country-style song seems to match the rural Leonida setting of the game. It also creates a strong contrast with the bright and lively atmosphere of Vice City.

Fans are now wondering if Keel had permission to reveal this information. Rockstar Games is known for keeping its projects very secret, so an official reveal like this seems unlikely.

This is not the first time such a leak has happened. Earlier in February 2026, another artist, Panama, claimed in a now-deleted Instagram comment that their song “Back to Life” with the band Poolside will also be featured in the game.
