Interior Ministry control room monitors PDM protest demo outside Election Commission.

The government has established control room at the interior ministry to monitor the law and order situation in the federal capital.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed visited the control room.

While sharing views on the occasion, he express hope the opposition parties will hold a peaceful protest.

However, he also took credit for the permission to the Opposition parties alliance for peaceful protest.

Sheikh Rashid noted it as the first time that a government has allowed such a demonstration on the constitution avenue.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed also visited the Election Commission of Pakistan.

He also reviewed the security arrangements there.

No seminary student or banned militia

Earlier, he said no seminary student or banned militia will be allowed to participate in the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s protest before the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Furthermore, Sheikh Rashid underlined the sanctity of Election Commission as a constitutional institution.

Therefore, he warned that the government will not let anyone to intimidate Election Commission.

Moreover, the minister urged the Ulema and religious scholars to comply with the law.

He asked them to avoid using their students for politicking.

Sheikh reminded that it goes even against the sanctity of their stature.

The minister further warned the banned Ansar-ul-Islam members of action if spotted in the protest.

Meanwhile, he chaired a meeting to take stock of the law and order situation, which might arise due to the PDM’s protest in the Federal Capital.

He said the government is taking all precautionary measures.
