Israeli police raid Al Jazeera office; seize equipment

Following a ban on Qatar’s broadcasting organization Al Jazeera, the Israeli police seized the equipment from its office located in a hotel in occupied Jerusalem.

According to the report of the British news agency, after stopping the broadcasting of Al Jazeera TV on the orders of the Israeli government, the TV equipment has also been confiscated, while the website of Al Jazeera has also been blocked.

In the video circulating on the Internet, the Israeli police raid on the office of Al Jazeera. It can be seen in the video that Israeli police officers dressed in plain clothes are taking away cameras and other equipment.

It should be noted that yesterday on the orders of the Israeli government, the satellite and cable providers suspended the broadcast of Al Jazeera channel.

According to Arab media, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s cabinet unanimously decided to close the operation of Al Jazeera in Israel, while the Israeli Parliament had already voted in favour of the temporary closure of the Al Jazeera channel.

Israeli Information Minister Shlomo Karhi announced the closure of Al-Jazeera in his social media post, saying that he had signed an order to close the Al-Jazeera channel and this order would take effect immediately.

Arab media said these orders of the Israeli minister of information will initially be in force for 45 days, but after that the ministry will have to place this decision before the district court.

Israeli media said the government had instructed the minister of information to close the Al Jazeera channel in Israel and seal its office and confiscate computers and mobile phones as well as other equipment.
