KPK Minister gets extortion letter from militant outfit

PESHAWAR: KPK minister, Atif Khan has received an extortion letter allegedly from the militant group asking him to pay 8 million.

Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa Minister for Science and Technology Atif Khan has confirmed that he had received the letter from TTP, threatening to kill the minister in case if he does not pay them required amount.

TTP letter says, they have all the records about Atif Khan and he was also included in the TTP Mardan’s list of wanted people. It’s your turn now, the letter reads. If order to get excluded from this list you have to meet our demand or lose your life. mentioned in the extortion letter.

KPK minister said, “The way ransom letters come normally, some people have received them,” he said, adding he had shared the letter with relevant institutions and all the security agencies.

KP government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif said that strong action would be taken against extortionists in accordance with the law.
