Minimal increase in prices of petroleum products approved.

According to the government sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s summary for increasing price of petrol by 13.18 rupees per liter.

According to a press release from the Prime Minister Office, he has approved a minimal increase of just 2.70 rupee per litre.

However, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority had proposed an increase of 12.12 rupees in prices of high speed diesel.

Moreover, the OGRA had recommended increase of 11.10 rupees per liter  and kerosene oil.

But the PM considered the public interest.

He approved an increase of 2.88 rupee per litre for high speed diesel, and 3.54 rupee per litre in the prices of kerosene oil.

Meanwhile, Minister Asad Umar said inflation continues to decline in the country.

He made this claim in a tweet on Sunday.

He further said that Consumer Price Index shows down to 5.7 percent during current month inflation.

However, the Core Inflation stood at 5.4 percent.

On the other hand, Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi praised efforts of PM to overcome inflation.

In a statement on Monday, he further said Prime Minister Imran Khan is keenly taking personal interest to overcome the inflation.
