Mohsin Naqvi announces new selection committee

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced the new national selection committee today.

Mohsin Naqvi held a press conference in Lahore in which he said that the selection committee has been reorganized. The committee will now consist of seven members. The new thing is that now there will be no chairman in the selection committee, he added.

Naqvi said that the selection committee would include Muhammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, head coach, captain and an analyst.

The PCB chairman said that the seven members would take a decision with consultation and the committee will finalize every decision. All the seven members will have equal authority, he added.

He further said that work is being done on the coaches and once finalized it would be shared with media. There will be a combination of national and international coaches.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the resources would be spent on cricket and players. Even if the treasury is left empty, I will be happy that it was spent on the improvement of cricket. There is no use of keeping money in banks. There will be uniform NOC policy as per the contract as no favoritism with any player.

The PCB chairman said that Haris Rauf’s central contract has been restored. The decision regarding captain will be taken after consultation and the new selection committee is holding consultation on it, he added.
