NEPRA approves Rs4 per unit increase in power tariff

Islamabad- The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority( NEPRA) on Tuesday approved to increase the power tariff by Rs4 per unit.

The people will have to bear the burden of over Rs51 billion in the name of the yearly energy adaptation. still, the increase won’t be applicable to the consumers of the K- Electric.
On the other hand, the NEPRA is likely to decide the operations of the power distribution companies seeking an increase of Rs8 per unit in the introductory tariff.
The NEPRA had completed the hail of the operations of the power distribution companies with regard to their profit needs. The Energy Ministry said that the Power Division would make the decision after the decision of the NEPRA.
Sources said that the government would make the decision on the targeted subvention after the NEPRA decision. The power rate will be increased due to energy prices, indirect debt and company losses. The increase, still, is likely to be madephase-wise.
