In his tweets today, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain expressed these views.

He rejected the impression of any stalemate between government and the opposition on the appointment of members of Election Commission of Pakistan.

He further said Prime Minister Imran Khan will get opinion of the Leader of the Opposition on the issue in accordance with the Constitution.

The Minister underlined a strong Election Commission enjoying all political parties’ confidence in the interest of Pakistan.

He referred to Prime Minister Imran Khan who h said has waged a struggle for a transparent system.

He said the government also wants to move forward with an open heart on electoral reforms and NAB laws.

Moreover, Fawad said we want consensus in the parliament on all major issues.

The Minister said stability of the political system lies in the respect for constitution.

Furthermore, he said consensus on elections, accountability and national security will give stability to the political system.
