05 May, 2024 15:33

Pakistan has voiced serious concerns over the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza demanding an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.

OIC can play an important role in global economic development, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar told the 15th OIC Islamic Summit Conference being held in Banjul, Gambia.

The OIC summit is at a critical juncture. The people, especially the Muslim Ummah, are facing big challenges and OIC should give a unified and integrated response. The brutal Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people in the West Bank are continuing, he said.

The deputy prime minister said that over 35,000 Palestinians, including women and children, have been martyred. Besides, thousands of people were injured and two million were displaced by Israeli bombing, he added.

The foreign minister said that humanitarian aid is being deliberately denied to Gazans. He expressed Pakistan’s support for reforms in the Security Council. He said that India was inflicting atrocities on innocent Kashmiris in occupied Kashmir.
