NEPRA takes serious notice of unscheduled electricity load shedding.

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has taken serious notice of various media reports regarding unscheduled load-shedding of up to 12 hours.

According to media reports, all the Distribution Companies (DISCOs) are doing so.

Due to that, the public is suffering heavily in this current wave of heat, especially in the areas under lockdown due to COVID-19.

As per legal requirements, DISCOs remains obligated to provide uninterrupted and reliable power supply to the consumers.

Under the relevant provisions of their licenses, NEPRA directed all DISCOs strictly  to take immediate remedial measures to minimize the load shedding and also submit a report in this regard to the Authority immediately.

Karachiites are also complaining of uncalled for power outages.

They have also launched campaign against the K Electric (KE).
