Youm e Ashur being observed to pay homage to Imam Hussain martyrdom today (10th Moharram).

Ashura Day mourning processions are being taken out across the country with due solemnity.

The mourners pay homage to the supreme sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain and his devoted companions in Karbala.

The mourning processions are being taken out in all the cities and towns of the country.

Standard Operating Procedures have also been issued for the mourning processions after consultations with the religious scholars to avoid spread of Covid-19.

Ulema and Zakireen will highlight the bright and candid teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.) and various aspects of Karbla tragedy.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made to avoid any untoward incident during the mourning processions.

RAWALPINDI

In Rawalpindi, the central procession of Ashura emerged from Imambargah Col. Maqbool Hussain and heading towards its culmination point at Imambargah Qadeemi after passing through its designated route.

The mourners will hold Sham-e-Ghariban Majlis at Imambargah Qadeemi.

Sabeels of water, milk and tea have also been set up along the route of the procession in remembrance of famine like situation faced by Hazrat Imam Hussain Razi Allah Ta’ala Anho and his companions.

Strict security measures are in place to ensure peace and security. Walk-through gates and CCTV cameras have also been installed to check the entry and exit of people at various points.

LAHORE

In Lahore, main Shabih-e-Zuljinah procession of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram, was taken out from Nisar Haveli inside Mochi Gate of Old Walled City is passing through its traditional route and will culminate at Karbala Gaamay Shah this evening, where Sham-e-Ghareeban will be held.

KARACHI

The processions of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram are being taken out from various parts of Karachi today while the main procession has been taken out from Nishtar Park Karachi.

The main procession after passing through the traditional route will conclude at Imambargah-e-Iranian Hussaini at Maghrib.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also visited procession and reviewed the security arrangements.

Strict security arrangements have been put up in the route of the procession to avoid any untoward situation.

HYDERABAD

In Hyderabad, 78 majalis are being held throughout the city while 35 small and big processions have been taken out from different parts of the city.

The central procession has been taken out from Qadam Gah Moula Ali (RA) and after passing different routes will be culminated at Karbala Dadan Shah in evening.

PESHAWAR

In Peshawar, the main Alam, Tazia and Zul jinnah procession are being taken out from Imam Bargah Agha Syed Ali shah Qissa Khawani Bazaar.

Fourteen other processions will be taken from different Imambargahs which will join the main procession.

The procession after passing through its traditional routes will terminate at its starting point in the evening.

Similar processions of Tazia, Alam and Zuljinah will also be taken out in Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Kurram and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

Tight security measures have been taken to ensure peaceful atmosphere on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ashur.

QUETTA

In Quetta, the main mourning procession comprised of Alam, Tazia and Zuljinah has been taken out from Nichari Imambargah at Alamdar Road.

The main procession will culminate at Alamdar Road in the evening after passing through its conventional route.
