Interior Minister seeks report from IG on armed attack on policemen at sector G-13.

Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Monday took notice of firing on policemen.

In this regard, he has sought details of the incident from Inspector General, Islamabad.

The Minister directed to bring the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.

Gunmen riding on bikes opened fire on a police patrolling van, injuring three police personnel on Sunday night.

The attack took place in the limits of Golra police.

Later, rescue staff shifted them the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital.

There Head Constable Mohammad Qasim died.

Sheikh Rashid expressed grief over the loss of head constable Mohammad Qasim.

Furthermore, he directed the PIMS administration to provide every possible medical care to save the lives of injured personnel.

He vowed  that criminals could not escape the law and finally end up behind the bars.

He further said he himself was monitoring the investigation process while miscreants should be punished.

Meanwhile, condition of Sub-Inspector Mohammad Jamil and Constable Qasir Abbas remain stable, according to police.

On the other hand, police spokesman said the three officials were patrolling on a routine night checking at Container Chowk, Sector G-13.

They signalled a motorcycle to stop but the bike riders opened fire on the police party, injuring the three officials.

Meanwhile, two motorcycle riders attacked SHO Race Course Mian Imran Abbas, while he was traveling with his wife and children in a car.

They targeted him near Kachehri.

Later, rescue team rushed him to Fuji Foundation Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
