Ishaq Dar, UK Minister Discuss Trade, Investment and Regional Peace

LONDON: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met UK Minister of State Stephen Doughty in London, with discussions focusing on Pakistan-UK bilateral relations and cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.

Ishaq Dar welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral ties and stressed the importance of sustained engagement to further strengthen political, economic and institutional linkages between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The two sides discussed measures to enhance trade and investment, expand cooperation in emerging sectors, strengthen climate cooperation and promote cultural exchanges.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the significant contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom, describing it as an important bridge between the two countries and a valuable contributor to bilateral relations.

The meeting also covered key regional developments, including the situations in the Middle East and Afghanistan. Both sides underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and continued engagement in promoting regional peace and stability.
