Government Sets Sugar Price at Rs 165/kg to Ease Public Burden

Islamabad, KP announced new sugar prices - July 2025
The federal government and the sugar industry have reached an agreement on the ex-mill price of sugar, and the government has promised great relief to the public.
According to the Ministry of Food Security, the ex-mill price of sugar has been decided between the government and sugar mills at Rs 165 per kilogram.
The Ministry of Food Security has stated that all provincial governments will ensure the availability of affordable sugar to the public in light of this decision.
It should be noted that in the first week of July, sugar became more expensive in retail by Rs. 5 to Rs. 10 per kg within a week, after which sugar became available in retail from Rs. 185 to Rs. 190 per kg.
In retail, sugar was sold at Rs 185 to 190 per kilogram, while the price of branded sugar reached Rs 200 per kilogram.
