Schools closed in this Sindh city amid rainfall

09 September, 2025 10:53

Schools across Hyderabad remained closed today (September 9) because of ongoing rainfall that has badly affected daily life in the city.

The heavy and continuous rain has caused waterlogging, traffic problems, and serious disruption in routine activities. To ensure the safety of students, Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abideen Memon announced that all public and private schools will remain closed today. An official notification was also issued, mentioning that difficult travel conditions were the main reason for the closure.

Along with waterlogging, many areas also faced power outages. Although electricity has been restored in some localities, areas like Heerabad and the Public Health feeder are still without power since last night, causing more trouble for residents.

In Qasimabad, the situation became worse when a drain overflowed due to nonstop rain. Drain water spilled onto the road at Naseem Nagar Chowk, making it dangerous for both pedestrians and commuters.

Authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation, and more updates will be shared if the rain continues.
