Lahore Traffic Police crack down on one-wheeling videos on social media
The Lahore Traffic Police has launched a strict crackdown on one-wheeling, calling it a dangerous and life-threatening stunt.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Dr Athar Waheed, said on Friday that FIRs will be registered against anyone caught performing or promoting one-wheeling. He added that the Cyber Patrol Wing is monitoring social media 24/7 to find and take action against people posting such videos.
Dr Waheed said a recent case was filed after a video of a boy and a girl doing one-wheeling went viral online. He stressed that this campaign follows the Punjab IG’s zero-tolerance policy against one-wheeling in all districts.
Calling it a “game of death,” Dr Waheed said these stunts have caused many fatal accidents and left families heartbroken. He urged parents and teachers to guide youngsters and stop them from attempting such dangerous acts.
As part of an awareness drive, the Education Wing of the Lahore Traffic Police is visiting schools and colleges to educate students about the deadly risks of one-wheeling.
He also warned social media users not to share or promote such videos just to gain views, as it can lead to legal trouble.
Dr Waheed reaffirmed that, under the Chief Minister’s vision, the Lahore Traffic Police is working round the clock to improve road safety and protect lives.
