11 November, 2025 13:00

A loud explosion was reported outside the G-11 Court in Islamabad today, causing panic among residents. Initial reports suggested that the blast might have been a suicide attack linked to the group “Fitna al-Khawarij” with alleged foreign sponsorship. However, police sources later confirmed that the explosion was caused by a vehicle’s gas cylinder bursting, and not a deliberate attack.

The blast injured over 27 people and killed 12, according to early reports. Emergency services, including police and rescue teams, quickly reached the site to help the injured, secure the area, and assist local residents. The area around the G-11 Court Complex was cordoned off while authorities carried out inspections and ensured public safety.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the cylinder explosion and to prevent similar incidents in the future. Residents have been advised to stay cautious and avoid the area until it is declared safe.

The incident has raised concerns about public safety and highlighted the importance of timely emergency response in Islamabad.
