Shehbaz Sharif, Masoud Pezeshkian Hold Telephone Conversation

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif spoke on the telephone with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and extended his greetings to the Iranian President and the brotherly Iranian people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz.

The Iranian President warmly responded to the Prime Minister’s sentiments and expressed his best wishes for the Pakistani people.

The Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the brave Iranian people in the context of the ongoing tension and deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives and prayed for the speedy recovery and safety of the injured and affected.

The Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the ongoing dangerous situation in the Gulf region and stressed the urgent need for de-escalation and dialogue and diplomacy and also stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among the Muslim ummah.

The prime minister briefed on the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan’s leadership and said that Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace in the region.
