Balochistan govt exposes terror network in Rahima Bibi case

18 April, 2026 19:08

The Government of Balochistan shared important details of a terrorism-related case during a press briefing on April 18, 2026. Officials said the case exposed organised terror networks, cross-border links, and the use of social vulnerabilities.

The case is based on the statement of Rahima Bibi, wife of Manzoor Ahmed from Dalbandin. According to authorities, her statement helped security agencies gather important information.

Officials said Rahima Bibi confirmed that her husband helped a female suicide attacker linked to the Balochistan Liberation Front. The attacker, Zarina Rafiq, was later involved in an attack on a Frontier Corps camp in November 2025.

Use of Homes for Shelter
Rahima Bibi revealed that the attacker stayed at her house for some time. This shows that normal homes are being used as temporary hideouts. She also said her mobile number was used by militants for communication.

Cross-Border Training
Investigations found that the attacker was taken to Afghanistan for training and later brought back to Pakistan for the attack. This raises concerns about cross-border support.

Women Being Used in New Strategy
Security officials said militant groups are now using women through pressure and recruitment. This shows a change in their strategy.

Organised Recruitment System
Experts believe these groups target vulnerable people, influence them, and then train them for attacks. Some networks also spread propaganda to influence public opinion.

“Missing Persons” Narrative
Officials said some networks label arrested militants as “missing persons” to gain sympathy and create confusion.

Social Weaknesses Exploited
Authorities said these groups use social and family weaknesses to support their activities, including recruitment and movement.

Government Action Ongoing
The government said operations against such networks are continuing, including intelligence gathering and legal action to stop future incidents.
