PM Shehbaz Sharif Chairs Federal Cabinet Meeting, Reviews Economic and Security Situation

A meeting of the federal cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has concluded with discussions on the country’s overall economic and political situation. The cabinet also reviewed the law and order situation and approved several important summaries presented by different government divisions, according to sources.

During the meeting, the cabinet was briefed on recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan and the country’s security situation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and cabinet members reiterated their resolve to defeat terrorism at all costs and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Armed forces and security personnel in the fight against militancy.

The cabinet also expressed concern over what it described as illegal steps by India in the context of the Indus Waters Treaty. The participants reaffirmed that Pakistan would not compromise on its internationally recognized water rights and would continue to protect its national interests.
