Police Officer Martyred, FC Personnel Injured During Clearance Operation in AJK’s Poonch Division

A police officer was killed and a member of the Federal Constabulary (FC) was injured during a clearance operation in the Beethak Baloch area of Poonch Division in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), according to official statements. Authorities said armed members of a banned action committee opened fire on security forces while the operation was underway.

Officials identified the slain officer as Mirpur Traffic Police Constable Aqib, while Federal Constabulary Constable Shehzad sustained gunshot injuries during the exchange of fire. The operation was launched as part of efforts to restore law and order and clear the area, officials said.

Authorities accused the banned action committee of resorting to violence and said strict legal action would be taken against those involved in attacks on security personnel. Already the ban organization has used students, women to raise anti-state narrative, the officials stated these elements will be removed to maintain law and order in Pakistan.
