PMD Issues Rain Forecast, PDMA and WASA Put on High Alert

Pakistan will face a new monsoon weather system, with light to heavy showers anticipated through Lahore and greatly of Punjab whereas authorities stay on high alert.

The estimate by Pakistan Meteorological Departmen (PMD) is partly sunny and cloudy weather in Lahore, but expected a light showers after noon. The city’s temperature fallen to a low of 31°C, with the mercury forecast to hike to a maximum of 39°C.

Within the forecast of heavy rainfall, the Punjab PDMA has engaged all district administrations on alert and concentrating them to take compulsory safety steps in low-lying and at-risk areas.

In the meantime, with rain expected in Lahore, WASA Lahore Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed has instructed all operational teams to stay on high alert.

According to him, officers and field staff will continue working until rainwater is completely cleared from roads and vulnerable low-lying areas.

Residents have been urged to avoid unnecessary movement during rain and keep track of the latest weather advisories.
