Ishaq Dar Reviews Pakistan’s Programme for 81st UN General Assembly Session

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review Pakistan’s programme for the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Foreign Secretary and Special Secretary (UN), who briefed the Deputy Prime Minister on the proposed programme for Pakistan’s participation in the high-level UNGA session.

The briefing covered a range of planned activities, including high-level engagements, bilateral meetings and other diplomatic interactions scheduled on the sidelines of the General Assembly session.

Ishaq Dar reviewed the proposed programme and provided guidance regarding its priorities, scheduling and arrangements.

He emphasised the importance of ensuring that Pakistan’s participation in the high-level session was well-coordinated and focused on the country’s diplomatic priorities.

The Deputy Prime Minister directed relevant officials to maintain close coordination and full readiness ahead of the UNGA session.

He stressed the need for effective planning to ensure that Pakistan makes active and meaningful use of the high-level diplomatic platform.

The United Nations General Assembly provides an opportunity for member states to raise international, regional and bilateral issues and engage with leaders and senior officials from around the world.

Pakistan is expected to use the upcoming session to advance its diplomatic priorities and strengthen engagement with international partners through bilateral and multilateral meetings.
