Pakistan, Lebanon Vow to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Law Enforcement Cooperation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present during the meeting.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and expressed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.

The two ministers discussed Pakistan-Lebanon relations, with particular focus on cooperation in law enforcement and people-to-people contacts.

They welcomed the signing of the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, describing it as an important milestone in strengthening bilateral legal cooperation.

The ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and congratulated Pakistan on the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

Both sides expressed their desire to further expand bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
