Ishaq Dar Chairs Meeting on Power Sector Reforms, Recommendations Finalised

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the second meeting of the Prime Minister-constituted Committee on Power Sector Reforms.
The committee discussed measures to strengthen regulatory independence and effectiveness in the context of ongoing privatisation initiatives, with a focus on protecting consumer interests.
Following detailed deliberations, the committee agreed on a set of recommendations, completing the task assigned to it by the Prime Minister.
Ishaq Dar appreciated and thanked all members for their active participation and valuable contributions to the committee’s work.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers for Law and Justice and Power, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Privatisation, National Coordinator-NCMC, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, and Secretaries of Cabinet, Law and Power.
Senior officials from the relevant ministries and divisions also participated in the meeting.
