PM praises Federal Board of Revenue for 57pc growth in collection.

In a tweet today, Prime Minister Imran Khan has commended FBR efforts on achieving growth of 57 percent in April 2021.

The FBR collections recorded at 384 billion rupees compared to 240 billion rupees in April 2020.

Moreover, the PM said during Jul-Apr the collections reached 3780 billion rupees, 14 percent higher than same period last year.

He said this shows our policies have led to broad-based economy revival.

Meanwhile, Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin has said country’s economy is showing signs of recovery amid coronavirus pandemic.

He noted construction and manufacturing sectors lead in the recovery.

Tarin said, while talking to a delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry through a video link.

He further said the third wave of COVID-19 is challenging.

The Minister stressed on the role of chambers of commerce and industry as a bridge between the government and the traders for active coordination.

Furthermore, he welcomed suggestions from the members of FPCCI on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Pakistan observes World Labour Day today (Saturday May 1, 2021).

On the occasion, President and the Prime Minister issued their separate messages.

They reiterated the government’s commitment to improve working and living conditions of workers.

Furthermore, they vowed to ensure provision of housing and education facilities and extending health cover to them and their families.
