President calls for proactive measures to develop Information Technology sector.

At a briefing on the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in Islamabad on Tuesday, President Dr. Arif Alvi spoke on IT sector.

He said after proactive measures to develop the Information Technology sector, it can contribute enormously to the economic and scientific development of the country.

He further said that globally, the focus of development policies is shifting from Brick-and-Mortar development projects to the intellectual development of human resources.

Therefore, he emphasized that Pakistan needs to adopt this modern strategy.

President Alvi also underscored academia-industry linkages essential for the progress of the country.

He also urged the need to increase the number of students with a special focus on the provision of hybrid and online education.

The President asked the management to prepare the students keeping in view the requirements of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Furthermore, he asked them to focus on research and development.
