Shah Mahmood Qureshi arrested from Adiala Jail for May 9 incidents

PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi today arrested again from Adiala jail while being released from cipher case. Police forcefully taken away Qureshi from the premises ofAdiala Jail to an unknown location.

Today, the Rawalpindi DC withdrew his earlier order for detaining the former foreign minister for 15 days under Section 3 of the Maint­en­ance of Public Order (MPO) – only for arresting Qureshi in GHQ attack case. A heavy contingent of police took the PTI leader in custody from the Adiala Jail, and reportedly shifted him to an unknown location.

As per police sources, a case against Qureshi, for attacking the GHQ during the May 9 riots, was registered at the RA Bazar police station. The PTI leader will be produced before an anti-terrorism court either today or tomorrow for remand.

On December 22, a three-member SC bench , led by acting Chief Justice Sardar Tariq Masood granted bail to PTI founder Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Shah Mahmood lambasted Police for mocking Supreme Court orders

Shah Mahmood Qureshi while being remained inside jail premises tried to conversate with the police – to no avail as another personnel from Punjab police came forward and shoved Qureshi out of the prison gate, towards an armoured police vehicle.

While being entering into the van Qureshi said that police were making a mockery of the Supreme Court’s orders. “They are arresting me again in a false case,” he said.

“I represented the nation, I am innocent and I am being targeted for political revenge without any reason,” he concluded.
